Everyday I don't get out of bed on time
hit the snooze and then I find
myself wishing I could rewind
the clock and get another mind-
set, resolved to discipline
don't wanna wake up alone again
and have to miss another meal
I'm getting pissed and now I feel
HUNGRY!
ANGRY!
LONELY!
TIRED!
… start to spiral spinning down the drain
don't know what capabilities I still retain
to medicate the damages caused by my scumbag brain
and its inability to operate under this strain
I'm not thinking clearly
and honestly feeling
destructive and combative
to the extent that
the damage I'm causing
to my life is alarming
and I don't know quite how or why this day has gone all wrong
I've made an awful mess of things and now I think I'm done
I really need a break from me so I think I might
catch some Zs to no avail because every night I
Lie awake alone in bed
as scattered thoughts run through my head
of all the stupid things I said
irrationalities I dread
and all the things I can't affect
'till any hope for sleep is wrecked
and I am thoroughly upset
as I increasingly get
HUNGRY!
ANGRY!
LONELY!
TIRED!
… start to spiral, spinning down the drain
another sleepless night yields to another day
of self destructive outcomes but there has to be a way
to hopefully keep from making the same mistake again
(HUNGRY!) eat something to elevate your mood
(ANGRY!) count to ten before you make a move
(LONELY!) call a friend to chase away your blues
(TIRED!) take a rest and refresh as you choose
you now can identify
some of the reasons
for losing control of
your thoughts and emotions
before you act on them
just halt and ask yourself this question
“am I hungry,
angry,
lonely,
or tired?”
if you think you're gonna spiral…
(OUT OF CONTROL)
(AND THEN YOU FALL)
(BEFORE THEM ALL)
(AND FEEL SO SMALL)
This could've happened
To anyone
anywhere
At any time
they're under certain conditions
(but if you recall this simple rule results might be sublime)
